About Law Office of Caitlin Fitzpatrick

The Law Office of Caitlin Fitzpatrick was founded with a simple goal: to make legal services more approachable, transparent, and practical for individuals and families navigating important life decisions.

The firm provides virtual family law and estate planning services for California matters, with an emphasis on flat-fee and limited-scope options. Rather than assuming every client needs traditional full-service representation, services are designed to meet you where you are—whether you need help navigating an uncontested divorce, preparing an estate plan, drafting or reviewing legal documents, or getting guidance on a specific issue.

By clearly defining the scope and cost of services from the beginning, the firm aims to give clients greater control over both the legal process and the cost of getting the help they need.

Caitlin Fitzpatrick

Attorney & Owner
I’m Caitlin Fitzpatrick, a California attorney focusing my practice on family law and estate planning. I’ve been practicing law since 2019 and have operated my own law practice since 2020. I started my firm because I wanted to provide legal services in a way that feels more personal, transparent, and approachable than the traditional law firm experience. My approach is straightforward: I explain the law and your options in plain language, answer your questions, and help you make informed decisions about what makes sense for you and your family. I believe clients should understand what their attorney is doing, what they’re paying for, and what to expect throughout the process. Before becoming an attorney, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from California State University Channel Islands. I later earned my Juris Doctor, cum laude, from California Western School of Law, graduating in the top 15% of my class. While in law school, I earned the highest grade in my research and writing courses and served as a small-group tutor for first-year law students. My legal experience has included private practice as well as work with the Community Law Project and the San Diego County Alternate Public Defender. Teaching has also been an important part of my background. Before law school, I lived in China, where I taught Oral English and American Culture at the university level. That experience—and later tutoring law students—helped shape the way I practice law today. I don't believe complicated subjects need to be explained in complicated ways. I’m also a wife and mom, which has given me an even greater appreciation for how personal the issues I help clients navigate really are. Divorce, custody, and estate planning aren't simply legal documents and court procedures—they involve your family, your finances, and your future. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, baking, cooking, and spending time with my husband and our very busy toddler. My goal is for clients to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that they have an attorney who knows their matter, understands their goals, and is there to help them move forward.
